On caps, a front-panel patch is the classic choice, while a side patch reads more subtle and everyday.
For bags, a patch on the front flap or a dedicated morale-patch panel keeps it visible without competing with straps or pockets.
When in doubt, scale the patch to roughly a third of the visible panel — big enough to read clearly, small enough to stay proportional.
